Writing 201: Poetry, Day Three — Skin, Prose Poetry, Internal Rhyme

(Untitled)

Stars beam well-timed through the shuttered window and we appear as one intertwined Celtic knot of bliss. Caramel skin melted beneath your snowy-white complexion once again, hitting the right spot like a straight shot of espresso. Once upon a time, you intoxicated my brain like champagne bubbles and my eyes of mahogany brown explored deeply into your soul. I was hypnotized and mesmerized for a while, but eventually you dissolved that dream on your own and I evolved with thicker skin ever glowing, glowing, glowing.

    1. It was about an ex of mine. We had THE most fun… until it ended of course. It was always exciting, like the kind that makes you blush and brings a smile to your face when you randomly think of that person. We also worked together in different departments so it was a bit “taboo” in that area, but again… it was exciting 😉

      1. It’s brilliant – I even read it a third time just now! The internal rhyme and the repetition of glowing, glowing, glowing… and not to mention the vivid imagery! You hit it all spot on! (like a ‘straight shot of expresso’) hehe 😉
