Dance Break

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Papa Loves Mambo.”

Music has always been a big part of my life. I am multi-cultural and our music has always reflected that. It’s been swaying my hips ever since I could move and probably even before I knew what I was doing! Jazz, African, Classical, Symphonic, R&B, Reggae, Pop, Soul, Blues, Rock and Roll, Heavy Metal, Funk, Hip Hop, Rap. Even music in different languages, Russian, Hebrew, French, Spanish, Swedish… I’ve always been surrounded by it. And of course, growing up as a child of the 80’s (woot!), I’ve got all that business soaked into my heart as well.

My musical tastes are still the same.. varied by whatever I feel like at the moment. Maybe Dubstep, maybe Nina Simone and my children are the same. I laugh sometimes when I hear my children listening to one of their playlists on iTunes because it’ll go from Con Te Partiro (Bocelli) to Hardcore Punk to Jpop. I never really know with them, and I love it.
